Kevin Wiegand is president and owner of RK Custom Builders, a general contractor and construction firm for residential and commercial clients throughout central Illinois. For nearly a decade, he has developed its business model to include custom design and construction projects, as well as general contractor services, weathering financial downturns and expanding the firm to include five full-time employees. Under his leadership, the company has seen growth and increased profitability each year.

In addition, Wiegand has served as a volunteer EMT and firefighter on the Congerville Fire Department for 17 years. Now fire chief, he trains and oversees more than 30 EMT and Fire Department members while organizing an annual fundraiser to support the community’s ambulance services. His experience leading a search-and-rescue team for a recent drowning victim was just one example of his cool, calm and compassionate leadership style.

As a board member for Eureka Community Unit School District 140, Wiegand uses his business acumen to support the local education system and invest in his community’s future. His ability to find win-win solutions for negotiations with professional staff, concerned parents and community members has been a hallmark of his service on the board.

Over the years, Wiegand has coached numerous boys’ and girls’ softball and baseball teams and served as a Sunday school teacher at Goodfield Apostolic Christian Church. He has directed numerous construction projects for the church, organizing volunteers to service the needs of the less fortunate, from home remodeling to tornado cleanup efforts. Earlier this year, he journeyed to Zambia, Africa to work on a home construction project for a missionary and his family.

Outside of work and volunteer efforts, Wiegand enjoys spending time with his wife, Lindsay, and participating in school and sports activities with their four children. iBi
